Installation

Fluvius 1.2 requires Python 3.12 or newer.

python -m pip install fluvius

With uv:

uv add fluvius

Optional integrations are separate dependency groups:

python -m pip install "fluvius[workq]"       # Redis, NATS, and PostgreSQL Taskiq brokers
python -m pip install "fluvius[transport]"   # MQTT and NATS transport clients
python -m pip install "fluvius[hatchet]"     # Hatchet workflow integration

The default persistence implementation is SQLAlchemy. PostgreSQL is the production path; SQLite is useful for focused local tests. The current package does not ship MongoDB or an in-memory data driver.

Install a source checkout

git clone https://github.com/fluvius-io/fluvius-py.git
cd fluvius-py
uv sync --group dev

Run a quick verification:

uv run python -c "import fluvius; print(fluvius.__version__)"
uv run pytest

Continue with the quick start, which uses the same pipe-based application setup as the repository fixtures.
